So very sad. My thoughts and prayers go to Libby's family, friends and all those who knew her at Hull

such sad news, was so hoping for Libby to be found safe and well. I too was a student at Hull, I too went to the Welly this simply should not have happened. My thoughts are with Libby's family. Happy to support this project and build on her legacy.

I hope that the light of kind spirited people will always shine through the darkness. There is more good in this world than we know . .

So sad to hear about Libby. Take care

I was so touched by Libby’s story and hope we can provide a small legacy to reward excellence in her name.

This is a lovely tribute to a beautiful girl whose life was cut short while studying in our town

Rest in peace, Libby. A light that will never go out. C xxx

Lovely idea - Lets keep Libby’s memory alive

Our thoughts go out to the family and friends.

The loss of Libby has touched our community so much. Such a lovely young lady taken from us. Both of our Granddaughters are studying at Hull University and it brings home the realisation of what has happened to Libby.

Libby, I never knew you but your tragic passing filled me with great sorrow. You deserve to be remembered for the life you led, not the way you were taken. I hope your legacy can be used to improve the lives of others and keep your name forever alive in the hearts of many. You are sadly gone, but you will never be forgotten. May you rest in eternal life.

Libby you were on my mind constantly and I prayed so much for you to be found safe. I never knew you but I will never forget you. My thoughts and prayers to your family and friends. Your friends, The University of Hull and the people of Hull should be proud they way they have come together for you. Rest in Peace beautiful girl.x

A lovely young life cut short. So very sad. Condolences to all her family and friends

I just wish I could give more.

As a close family ourselves, we were devastated to hear the tragic death of Libby. I myself was a student at the university as well as my daughter. I worried about her every single day. Further, my daughter used to frequent The Welly nightclub. As a family, we are heart broken. The people of Hull are on average; wonderful people however, you can’t account for scum who wreck peoples lives. God bless Libby.

To Libby's family and friends. My husband and I graduated from Hull University in 1965. We know, from our time spent there, how much Libby would have enjoyed her life at Hull, so cruelly cut short. Our daughter, too, died aged 20, together with four of her friends. We too decided to start a fund to help young people at her previous college and gave money for projects at her previous schools, where she had spent many happy years. In the twenty six years since, we have seen many young people benefit from the trust we set up and from the equipment that the schools bought. I told my husband and remaining son that however hard it was we were going to go out each day and look for something beautiful in memory of her and her friends. There is nothing more worthwhile in life than trying to do something to make life better for others. Hold on tightly to each other and to your family and friends. Forgive each other after you have been unable to cope, remember that it's ok to cry or not to cope. Try to express your feelings, and believe me that you will find a way to deal with the unbearable pain that you feel now. One day you will be able to smile and laugh again, you will be able to appreciate the joy of music again, you will be able to sleep. You will be able to remember all that was lovely about your beautiful and loving daughter. By striving to do something for others you have started on the right road. I hope your fund grows from strength to strength. Judy Chan xx

RIP Libby. I’m so sorry to your family and friends for their loss xxx

Such a tragic end to a night out and I hope that Libby's family and friends receive the support and information they need to help them come to terms with her loss.

My thoughts and prayers are with Libby's family. To lose any loved one is hard, let alone such a young girl with so much of her life in front of her. RIP Libby, may you long live on in your family and friends and memorials.

No words can help...but all my thoughts and love are with Libby and her parents xx

We’ve all been touched by the tragic loss of Libby. The feeling of shock and disbelief on campus has been very real. I hope we are able to come together and do something positive for Libby, in her name, that will support students at the University she loved. #RememberingLibby
