Support your local uni boxing club!
We are Hull University Amateur Boxing Club and we need your help!
We are raising money to host our first fight night in over four years! These events do not happen often as in order to ensure the safety of all boxers involved, all equipment and officials have to be certified which makes running the event very expensive!
This event is incredibly important to the development of not only our club as a whole, but the personal development of those within our club who wish to push themselves to take part in competitive boxing.
Who are you?
We are Hull University Amateur Boxing Club.
'The fight night is of utmost importance as it gives our boxers who have a desire to compete a tangible goal that can help keep them motivated and give them something to train hard for. For all of us at Hull University Amateur Boxing Club this event is a symbol of not only how far we have come since our last event, but also represents the future of our club and the heights we know it is capable of achieving. It's not only a celebration for our members who do not wish to fight but want to show support to their team mates, it's also an opportunity for our boxers to showcase how hard they consistently work in the gym and in our ring, with most of our members having never competed in amateur boxing previous to attending university your donations will make an enormous positive impact on their entire university experience, and allow them to take part in something truly unlike anything they've done before' - Eline Roejkjaer, President.
Where will the money go?
To ensure the safety of all boxers involved, every aspect of the fight night must comply with England Boxing (ABA) rules, these cover everything from the venue to the equipment used to officials present. We have set no minimum for this project as there are many things we need support with in order to make this fight night a success. We set the goal we hope to achieve at £520 as this will pay for the licensed boxing ring and cover the cost of hiring officials, however if we achieve this goal, any extra will be spent on licensed boxing gloves, and an official strip for the boxers to wear. Here is a short breakdown to summarize the costs:
- ABA certified ring hire - £400
- Officials to attend - £120
- Sound/Light technician hire - £100
- Boxing gloves and kit - TBA
Literally any donation will be hugely appreciated by the club, any spare change you can find, or if you cannot donate any funds, we'd appreciate you just sharing our link to friends, family or those passionate about boxing and ask them to help support us! We do have a list of rewards for those who wish to donate:
- £5- We will publicly thank you on all of our social media channels
- £10 - Previous reward, plus free entry to fight night and the after party at piper
- £20 - All previous rewards plus reserved front row seating where available
- £25 - All previous rewards plus a signed thank you card from all of us at HUABC!
